Kate has personally implemented and raised all funds for the Rogers High School Horticulture Program. Students are paid $8-$10 an hour and placed with a mentor for summer employment. Many of the students have continued on to college to study Horticulture as landscape architects or Master Gardeners. In October they will plant 1,000 daffodil bulbs with donated funds raised by Kate on the grounds of Rogers High School. Hi, this is former mayor, Richard Sardella. This election, I urge third ward voters to join me in support of Kate Leonard. I had the honor of serving with Kate for five years and I know first hand how hard she has worked, not only for the residents of the third ward, but for all of us in Newport.

She has been successful in balancing the needs of her constituents with those of the business community.

Look at some of the things she has done these past two years.

She blocked a commercial development at Fort Adams. She has worked with the business community to promote "Thursdays on Thames". She has voted against excessive pay increases. And she has focused on fiscal responsibility to keep the city budget under control. In these uncertain times, we need someone with Kate's experience and drive to keep us afloat.

On November 4th, please cast your vote for Third Ward Councillor, Kate Leonard

Kate presents a check for $77,000 to Scott Wheeler of the Park Department and the owner of the company that will repair the historic fencing at the cemetery entrance to Newport.
